Int'l Nostalgia filmfest awards Iranian screenwriter

The 2nd Int'l Nostalgia Film Festival (NFF) in Italy honors ‘Jashu’ screenplay written by Ashkan Chavoshi from Iran.

The 2nd International Nostalgia Film Festival (NFF) in Italy has honored ‘Jashu’ screenplay written by Ashkan Chavoshi from Iran.

The best short screenplay award of the 2021 edition of the NFF was bestowed upon Chavoshi who is a director/ screenwriter from the Iranian province of Kermanshah.

‘Jashu’ is a short film about an Armenian food vendor named Varuzh who refuges Jashu to his shop during an accident. Jashu indwells and works there. He has a strange ability to repair equipments.

People find out about Jashu’s extraordinary ability and bring their equipments to the Varouzh store for repairing, but Jashu’s ability goes beyond repairing damaged equipments, and that leads to an adventure.

Chavoshi is already the recipient of the best short screenplay award for his short ‘Salamoon’ at the Mobile Motion - International Smartphone Film Festival in Switzerland as well as the 2020 Nashville Film Festival (NaFF) in the US. 

Iran-Italy joint production ‘Soft Waves of the Friendly Sea’ directed by Amir Kaveh was also selected as the best feature film of the NFF.

Lunched in 2019, the Nostalgia Film Festival is a seasonal event showcasing independent features and short films made by Iranians from around the world.

The event took take place on September 21-24, 2021 at the auditorium of the Politecnico di Milano in 3 sections of the screenplay, feature film, and short film.
